DiskLock 2.1.2 is completely compatible with Apple's System 7.0.
DiskLock 2.1.2 now supports the sleep feature for Macintosh Powerbooks and Portables. When the DiskLock DA locks your Mac, you can optionally set it to put your Mac to sleep. DiskLock will not sleep if you are connected to a file server, or if a modal dialog box is in front, since you are probably in the middle of doing something. Instead, it simply will put up its normal screen saver.
This version of DiskLock will work on Appleshare fileservers, print spoolers, and network routers. DiskLock is 32 bit clean, and works with Mode 32. DiskLock also works on the Mac Quadra, and other 68040 based Macs.
Files and folders locked with FastLock cannot be copied onto floppy disks, or sent through electronic mail. Files and folders locked with SpeedCrypt or DES may be copied onto floppy disks, and sent through electronic mail.
When you do a backup of your hard disk, files and folders locked with FastLock will not be backed up. Unlike SpeedCrypt and DES which simply encrypt all the data in a file, FastLock instead prevents anyone from accessing the file, including backup programs. To get a complete backup of your hard disk, you may either unlock all files and folders locked with FastLock, or you may use a backup program that makes an image backup of your hard disk, such as Apple's Tape Backup program.
If you are using System 7.0's Filesharing feature, you cannot lock shared folders, or folders that contain shared folders.
